How I joined Sainik School Ghorakhal ? By Shyamveer Chaudhary

Before joining this great Institution my father preffered me
To take Coaching Classes. This idea was given to him by his one old friend whose son was studying in Sainik School Ghorakhal.  So after completing my fourth class I was sent to Jhunjhnu a district in Rajashthan. The name of the school was Ravi Indian Public School. There are many other coaching schools in this area  who mainly prepare boys to how go through Sainik and Military Schools. So talking about Ravi Indian Public School we were taught mainly five subjects which are asked in Entrance Exam of  Sainik and Military Schools. These subjects are English, Maths, General knowledge, Hindi and Reasoning. The faculty there was highly educated and Experienced. It is an boarding school like SSGK and the Infrastructure of that school is very nice. The boys from that school has passed several schools entrance exams. I have personally seen boys going to many schools. This school conduct many practice paper so that boy can get idea about the question paper. I will say one thing about this school is that it has made my mathematics and reasoning skills so much strong that when I was giving my entrance exam I havn’t felt any difficulty in doing maths and reasoning. Now I am in Sainik School Ghorakhal and preaparing for UPSC the skills which I have learnt in Ravi Indian Public School are helping me a lot.

How I joined Sainik School Ghorakhal ? By Rajat Singh Bhargav

Basically, I didn’t prepare anything especially for it. My grandfather helped me for that. He taught me simplly the basic maths, some English and a little reasoning based questions. In other’s case a guardian or a tutor can play the same role. I only bought an Upkar publication Entrance Exam book and prepared from that. Now I what I wanted to suggest is that for class VI a large portion of the mathematics questions do come from the NCERT book of classes IV , V & a little bit from class VI. In other words NCERT could be the ‘bible’ for the same. He needs to prepare the complete NCERT to crack at least mathematics portion.
For other two subjects i.e. English and reasoning, he needs to make sure that his grammar is ok and reasoning can be prepared by a lot of practice. If someone is able to make through the written exam, interview is not so hard. Just a little bit General Knowledge is asked along with assessment of fluency in speaking. After that there is a simple medical test. And if you are physically fit and healthy you can make to the most prestigious institution of the world.
